um surrounded by relative silence is very easy to isolate and remove, so well go ahead
and get rid of it.

offending sound by highlighting that portion of the waveform with your Selection Tool, as

When highlighting audio for removal, try to begin and end your selection on areas of
similar height in the waveform. This will help curtail clicks or pops that may result from

Once you have your edit defined, click Play or the space bar to listen to your selection. If
you havent highlighted all of the flub, simply hover your cursor over either the left or right
side of the highlighted area. When your cursor becomes the hand pointer tool, as shown
in Figure 42, you can push and drag the selection borders to highlight more or less of the
audio you intend to delete. Try to select all of the flub without including any part of the
speech directly before and after it, then click Play again to hear your redefined selection.
