Later, we submitted CareerChat for inclusion in the iTunes Store to make it easier for
students with iTunes to find and subscribe to our feed.
CareerChat Promotion Results
We received 498 entries for the CareerChat iPod contest, which ran for four weeks and
was limited to one entry per student. As of January 18, 2006, the CareerChat podcast
page had been accessed 2,630 times and we have steadily increased the CareerChat
subscription base to at least 65 subsciptions.
Unfortunately, because of how FeedBurner calculates feed statistics, we are not able to
track exactly how many people are subscribed to CareerChat—it’s more of an estimate.
In addition, we are unable to track exactly how many people have listened to CareerChat
episodes (you don’t have to subscribe to listen).
An article about CareerChat appeared in The Miami Student and our podcast has been
mentioned on at least two occasions in Cincinnati’s daily newspaper, The Cincinnati
Enquirer. Furthermore, CareerChat has been featured as a lead article in “Campus
Career Counselor,” highlighted on the front page of Miami University’s Web site, and
featured in the university’s faculty and staff newsletter. Later, we were delighted to learn
