The Ozone plug-in is designed to integrate with more sophisticated audio software than
Audacity. Programs such as Abletons LIVE 24-Bit Recording Software ($399.95) or
Mackies more affordable Tracktion2 Music Production Software ($149) will handle
Ozone Analog Modeling Plug-In beautifully. Not to despair, however Audacity does
include several built-in tools with which to master your audio.
Noise Removal
After youve got your podcast episode edited and on a single track, you can proceed to
expunge the room noise from your recording. Audacity does include a noise removal tool
that some might find helpful, but to be honest we never did have any success with it.
Whenever we used Audacitys noise removal feature, even at its lowest setting, it made
the vocals sound kind of metallicy. I really dont know how else to describe it.
First, lets take a look at how much room noise we have to deal with. You wont need to
